Mousaka with ground beef and potato

You will need:

  1. Vegetable oil
  2. 200g white or yellow onion
  3. Salt
  4. Pepper
  5. 600g ground beef
  6. Paprika
  7. 1kg russet potatoes
  8. Vegeta seasoning
  9. 180g sour cream
  10. 2 cups of milk
  11. 2 eggs.

Heat pan to medium-high heat. Splash some vegetable oil in a frying pan and add white or yellow onion with 1tsp salt. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the ground beef and stir for another 5 minutes. Pepper to taste. Cook for another minute. Add 1 tsp paprika. Stir in for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Slice the russet potatoes into thin circles. Add 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of Vegeta, and 2 tbs. oil. Mix together. Take a baking pan and layer the bottom with potatoes, evenly covered. Add the meat mixture on top. Cover the top with the rest of the potatoes. Cover with foil and bake at 180C for 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a bowl mix the sour cream, milk, and 2 eggs together. When 40 minutes are up, take off the foil on the pan and pour the dairy mixture onto the potatoes. Bake again at 200C for 30 minutes uncovered.

Serve with additional sour cream.
